I remember the days when people were practically begging to get an update for their mid-range device. Today Samsung updates a new device almost daily! So is the case of the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Wi-Fi SM-T310. The device was previously running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The French model of Tab 3 8.0 was updated to Android 4.4 KitKat, build number T310XXUBNE9. This means that the firmware isn't available in other regions yet. It will probably be released for other models in the following days. Meanwhile, you should know that the new firmware comes with several improvements: increased performance, the white status bar, wireless printing support, a camera shortcut on the lockscreen, more emojis and many others. A set of the pre-installed apps also got a few tweaks.
To check your current firmware, go to Settings > More > About Device and look at your current version and build number. You can also use the 'check for updates' feature or Samsung Kies.
