Smart Home is a platform from Samsung that allows users to connect all their devices - smart TVs, washing machines, refrigerators etc. to an app on their smartphone or tablet, with which you could control all of these. For example, if you want to close you TV, you will command by voice "Good night" and the TV will close. Or, you could set the temperature on your air conditioning unit or set the laundry to be ready when you arrive home. This service will come to light in U.S. and South Korea, with other countries to follow pretty soon.The compatibility with some of Samsung's appliances will come in the second half of 2014. To user the service you should create a Samsung Account and download the app from Google Play or Samsung Apps and will run on devices that have Android 4.0 or other Android 4 updates. What's my model number?
There are several ways to locate your model number:
- Option 1
- On your device, go to Settings, then "About device" and scroll down to "Model number"
- Option 2
- Often times you can view the model number inside the device, by removing the battery
- Option 3
- Using Samsung's model/serial number location tool
