While OnePlus is busy throwing improvements and optimization updates, Samsung plans to skip a version and introduce the Android 12 based One UI 4.0 for its users. Just a couple of days into the launch, and OnePlus Nord 2 receives its first official firmware update. The new firmware makes its way as soon as you take the device out of the box and connect the same to the internet. Weighing 285 MB, the new build is labelled as Oxygen OS 11.3.A.O5. The update is currently exclusive for the devices that will be launching in the European market, but you can expect the same to spread globally really very soon.

If you've been using any of the OnePlus 8 devices, then there is a piece of amazing news. OnePlus has finally released the OxygenOS 12 beta for its devices that come under the 8 series. The update weighs somewhere around 139 MB and features the July 2021 security patch. You can access the new firmware by navigating to the System Update under the Settings panel. Talking about the firmware build numbers, in particular, the OnePlus 7 bears  11.0.2.1GM57BA for the devices in Europe and 11.0.2.1GM57AA for other devices that stretch across the global market. On the other hand, OnePlus Pro features 11.0.2.1GM21BA and 11.0.2.1GM21AA for the devices in Europe and other markets, respectively.

The company has rolled out a new firmware that marks improvements in various sections, and overheating management is one of those. The new firmware is labelled as OxygenOS 11.0.5.5 and bags the following improvements.

System

  • The update marks optimization in the overheating control management.
  • A number of known issues have been fixed alongside the improvement in system stability.

Camera

  • Improvement in image clarity and app stability.
  • The quality of the image shot using Nightscape mode has been improved.

The July 2021 Security Update is Live for Samsung Galaxy A80

Bearing the version number A805FXXS6DUG3, a new update rolls out for Samsung Galaxy A80. The update features July 2021 security patch and is currently rolling out for a number of countries including, Cyprus, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Poland, Serbia, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Germany, and the UK.

The August 2021 Security Patch is Live for Samsung Galaxy A52

Currently seeding in Germany, Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan, the Samsung Galaxy A52 devices are getting introduced to the August 2021 security update already. The update comes with version number A52FXXU3AUG4, and if you're living in any of the above-mentioned countries, navigate to the Settings and look for the new firmware manually under the Software update menu.

Samsung Talks About One UI 4.0 Future Plans

There were talks in the air recently that Samsung would skip UI 3.5. Well, it turned out to be true. Samsung has decided to jump straight into version 4.0, and it shall feature Android 12 as the base OS. What's more interesting, though, is the company is already setting up devices to run beta tests.

As of now, the flagships Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra are among the list of attendees. However, the beta test will go live for users in South Korea only. The entire sign up process will run through the official Samsung Members app only. Talking about the release date, well, nothing has been made clear yet. But if the company follows a previous trend, you can expect your devices to hit up with the new beta program somewhere in December.

Xiaomi

Poco X2 Gets MIUI 12.5

We're just months apart from the Poco X3 devices receiving the official MIUI 12.5 update, and now it is time for the Poco X2 users to taste of same. The build number corresponds to V12.5.1.0.RGHINXM and is labelled as "Stable Update."
