Apple and Google have both established dashboard tech sync with phones. This year will see Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto installed in many cars. Phones running the iOS 7 and Android 5.0 Lollipop can know plug into systems which then allow drivers to open and respond to text messages, make calls, control maps and also perform music using vocal sound commands. Google has partnered with twenty eight manufactures including Bentley and Audi so far.
In June, Google used the developer I/O event to disclose Android Auto as a vital feature of the Lollipop. Android Auto works with Android Lollipop smartphones to display info at the dashboard. The unit also acts as an exterior display for connected gadgets. The unit starts immediately when the operators plug in their Android phones. Android Auto uses vocal control for map reading using the Google Maps, can read and replay to messages conveyed. Music is assessed through the phone’s music library and or through Google Play.
During the launch of the Android Auto and CarPlay, Google’s Brady said that the company will allow car developers to create cars application for messages and audio. He said that he has partnered with more than twenty eight car markers. Android Auto vehicles are anticipated to be launched this year.
Apple’s CarPlay works with iPhone 5 to iPhone 6 plus. It is activated with the presence of Siri Software. When connected, the software can access the contacts, make calls and also return missed calls. Music can be tuned using application whereas navigation uses Apple Maps. Many manufactures will design touchscreen controls .In 2016, all Ford models will have Android Auto or CarPlay installed. By 2020, Apple is expected to be working with its own range of cars.
