While the feature of Ambient Display has become quite the norm, almost all devices still sport a notification light. Following in the footsteps of the Google Nexus 6, there is also a way to enable hidden notification light on Google Pixel and Pixel XL, which is turned off by default.If you just got your hands on the Google Pixel and miss the little notification light popping every now and then, there is a way to fix it. Fortunately, the notification light hidden near the earpiece of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL can be easily activated from the Settings app itself.
In the Notifications menu, you should be able to see the tiny gear icon on the top-right corner of the screen. Press the gear icon and you should be able to see the “Pulse notification light” tab, so tap on the toggle switch next to it.Now that you have enabled hidden notification light on Google Pixel and Pixel XL, you should be able to see the light every time a notification appears. While the default colors are only red and white, you can use an app to customize the light colors. What's my model number?
There are several ways to locate your model number:
- Option 1
- On your device, go to Settings, then "About device" and scroll down to "Model number"
- Option 2
- Often times you can view the model number inside the device, by removing the battery
- Option 3
- Using Samsung's model/serial number location tool
