Its a dynamic app that serves as a chat app, an app for video sharing as well as photo sharing. On top of that, it is an awesome way to stay connected to friends and family. If you haven’t tried sharing a Snap or a Story, then here is a little guide on how you can use the Snapchat app.

You will be prompted to type in your email address, a password and then select a username for your account. It is worth mentioning that the username you choose cannot be changed later on. On signing in, select the ghost icon for access to friend options along with your account settings.
Finding friends on Snapchat
You can add your friends to Snapchat in a number of ways. If given permission, the app can have access to your contacts, and enable you to find the list of friends with accounts on Snapchat. You can also tap Add Friends if you prefer to search for usernames.
Alternatively employ the useful Add Nearby feature, which lets you add a group of people that are around you. To do this everyone has to launch their Snapchat app, select Add Friends and then tap Add Nearby and each of your usernames will be displayed. Add them by tapping each of their names.
With continual use of Snapchat, its algorithm will help you find even more of your close friends who will be shown alongside a white star within a gold box, only visible to you.
Sending Snaps in Snapchat
Snapchat features messages referred to as Snaps that can be displayed for at least 30 seconds, which then disappear once they’ve been viewed. Taking a snap can be done by tapping the circle icon once while for taking a video, press and hold the icon.
To add a caption, tap the centre of the screen to type a text.
Turning Snaps to Snapchat stories
A collection of different Snaps is what is referred to as a Story on Snapchat. The creation of one is simple, take a typical Snap, tap the Add icon, which is a cross within a rectangle, on the top right-hand corner.
To see your story, on the camera screen, swipe left to access the options then under Stories navigate to Recent Updates then tap your name. You also view the stories your friends have posted the same way.
Enable Snapchat filters
Filters add substance or completely transform the look of your Snaps. This can include adding colors, the weather and a variety of other effects. By default, however, this feature is disabled.
To switch it on, open the profile screen, press the gear icon and navigate to Additional Services then choose Manage, where you’ll access the enable filters option.
Akin to other apps, the Snapchat app can be deleted by long-pressing the icon of the app and then tapping Remove.
However, this does not delete your Snapchat account. To remove your Snapchat account, log into your account via accounts.snapchat.com. After deleting your account, all the things you’ve ever posted will be gone completely.
