Things are starting to heat up as the months wear on. More and more smartphones are being announced, including Motorola's latest budget and mid-range series, plus the Honor 10. Check out our roundup below to see what other major Android news you may have missed this week!

Moto G6 and E5 lineups announced

Motorola has just unveiled the Moto G6, G6 Plus, and G6 Play, along with the cheaper Moto E5, E5 Plus, and E5 Play.All six of these handsets have taken on a similar form factor to that of the Moto X4 from last year. We have sleek curves, glass front and back, along with dual-cameras on the G-series.The Moto G6 Play will be priced at $199, while the G6 will start at $249. Motorola confirmed that the G6 Plus will not make its way to the US.As for the pricing of the E-series lineup, Motorola stopped short, but we know they'll be significantly cheaper than the G-series judging by the limited specs.

Honor 10 introduced

It almost seems like Huawei has been revealing new devices on a weekly basis of late. It's sub-brand has just unveiled the Honor 10, which looks to be the little brother of the Huawei P20 lineup.The phone sports a 5.84-inch display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080. Powering the Honor 10 is the same Kirin 970 chipset, you'll find in Huawei flagships, and it's been coupled here with 6GB of RAM and a 3,400mAh battery.Unfortunately, it seems this device will only launch in China for the time being. If it were to come to the US, the price could be rather compelling at around $400.

Samsung folding smartphone rumored for 2019

A new report claims that Samsung will be gearing up to launch its first foldable smartphone next year. Production is slated to begin in November, before being unveiled early in 2019.It's unknown whether this new handset will become the Galaxy S10. Although it is not outside the realm of possibility, after seeing Apple completely overhaul its flagship offering with the introduction of the iPhone X.

Google Voice and Sprint integration coming to an end

Galaxy S6 android 6.0.1 marshmallowSprint and Google have announced that integration with Google Voice will be ceasing on June 1st. Google detailed a few of the reasons for this, one of which surrounded changes to Sprint's network.While you can still continue to use Google Voice as normal with your Sprint line, this will end in June. From there, any outgoing calls and messages will be made with Sprint. Additionally, none of this information will be stored in Voice any longer.

Oreo is now installed on 4.6% of Android devices

More and more devices are being upgraded to Android Oreo. But it seems that the pace is still shockingly slow.

Google has released its latest Distribution Report, which revealed that Oreo is now installed on less than 5% of handsets. Coming in 1st place is Android Nougat, which holds a share of 30.8%.

The OnePlus 6 likely to feature water resistance

Now that the OnePlus 5T has been discontinued, all eyes are looking to the company's next release. In true OnePlus fashion, a series of teasers have revealed tidbits about the upcoming device.The latest teaser comes in the water-resistance department. If OnePlus follows through with this tease, the OnePlus 6 would mark OnePlus' first water-resistant smartphone.

Nokia 6 (2018) comes to the US

The new Nokia 6 was unveiled at MWC 2018 but was only limited to select regions. The US has been added to the list after the device became available through retailers like Amazon and Walmart.Priced at $270, the 2018 version of the Nokia 6 offers a 5.5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. We also have the Snapdragon 630 chipset, along with a 3,000mAh battery.

Amazon surpasses 100 million subscribers

For the first time ever, Amazon has disclosed how many subscribers are using Prime. CEO Jeff Bezos shared the 100 million figure in a recent letter to shareholders.In addition to revealing the number of subscribers, Bezos also explained that Amazon shipped more than 5 billion items in 2017. This is quite the feat and one that really makes you question whether any competitor could ever challenge the company's position.

Fitbit Versa smartwatch is now available for $200

Smartwatches and fitness trackers are slowly turning into the same device. Fitbit is the latest company to release a hybrid offering with the new Versa.It includes many features that one would look for in a fitness tracker. These include a 24/7 heart rate monitor, a dedicated app store, and a battery life that lasts for around 2 days. The Versa is available now, and is priced at just $199.95.
