After reports of Android 7.0 Nougat for Xperia devices being leaked early this week, there is more news on Nougat for OEM brands. The latest company expected to join the ranks of Nougat devices is Lenovo-owned Motorola, who will be bringing the Motorola Nougat update to the Moto Z and Moto G4.

The report came earlier this week when a Motorola spokesperson revealed that consumers can “expect to see Android N on the Moto Z family and Moto G4 beginning in Q4”. Although the Q4 starts in a couple of days, the Motorola Nougat update can probably be expected in a month.

The entire Moto Z series of smartphones – Moto Z, Moto Z Force, and Moto Z Play, along with the budget-friendly Moto G4 and its variant, the Moto G4 Plus will be the first Motorola devices to receive Android 7.0 Nougat.

There is no news from the company on when (or if) the Motorola Nougat update can be expected for Moto X Pure Edition and the previous line of Moto G devices. With budget models such as a Moto E3 Power released recently, a lot of Motorola users are awaiting an official Nougat roadmap from the company.
