An amazing team of developers has finally achieved success in porting the Galaxy S4 TW Launcher for any device that doesn't run on Samsung's TouchWiz. Of course you usually hear people say they want to change this launcher with the AOSP one from Nexus 4 for example or other custom ones, but for those who want to feel the touch of the S4 at least for a day, we will give you the steps to install it. As pre-requisites, you must know that you can only install this if you have a rooted device with a custom recovery installed. You also have to determine what type of screen your device has (XHDPI, HDPI or MDPI) because the type of launcher you will install depends on this. You can search for your device here and if you don't find it here just Google it and I'm sure it will pop out. Moving on, you will have to download one of the following files, depending on the type of screen:
What's my model number?
There are several ways to locate your model number:
- Option 1
- On your device, go to Settings, then "About device" and scroll down to "Model number"
- Option 2
- Often times you can view the model number inside the device, by removing the battery
- Option 3
- Using Samsung's model/serial number location tool
