A watch is a desired accessory. Many women and men consider it very elegant. In the last couple of years is a big consumer need for smartwatches. You don't want just a watch to tell you what time is it, you want one with which you can interact. In 2013 there were sold almost 2 million smartwatches in the world. So last year was the king of smartwatches with a 61% market share. Google's operating system was running on almost 1.25 million smartwatches in the world reported Strategy Analytics yesterday. All other companies that produce similar devices had just 39 percent of market. In a market as dynamic as in the technology domain, this year you can be the king and the next year you can be Cinderella. Even if 61% of smartwatches shipped worldwide had Android, this year we can't predict anything yet. It seems that this victory was taken due to Samsung's Galaxy Gear, which had some explosive sales worldwide.Strategy Analytics expects that this market will grow in 2014, As Google wants to launch a new smartwatch, and Tizen who would like to have a similar device, the struggle for the king's crown will be more intense this year.
