The Smart Lock feature unlike other forms of locking, avoids the hassle of having to unlock your device when you are constantly using it or in a trusted and secure area. This feature disables your lock screen security especially when it is not necessary.
Go to Settings then tap on Lock screen; Opt for “Select screen lock” to choose the type of security you want for your phone. Afterwards, return to the Lock screen settings menu to select Smart Lock. The Smart Lock function comes in five variations with different capabilities, you are allowed to choose more than one at a time

The LG V10 comes with a Smart Settings feature adjusts your phone settings automatically based on your location or the devices connected. It allows you to set up your phone to that by default the music app opens when you plug in your earphones or Wi-Fi is disabled when you leave the house.
To set this up, first go to the General section in the Settings then tap Location to enable My Places.
On the Settings, go to Smart Settings menu and adjust the options as you’d like.
Find a lost or stolen LG V10
LG V10 comes with a pre-installed Android Device Manager that has tools that can help you locate your lost or stolen device. In case you have lost your device, you visit their website

First enable this feature:
Go to Settings then tap Fingerprints & security; Select Content Lock, create the security measure you want then follow the instructions.
When you are done you will be able to secure your media content or QuickMemo notes.
On either the QuickMemo or Gallery app, simply choose the items then tap the three-dot menu that appears and the select Lock.
Pin Lock for nosey guests
Your phone is full of private information that you wouldn't want any nosey persons to come across. This is one of the reasons most of us are reluctant to let others use it without our supervision. LG V10 features a Screen Pin function that allows you to lock your device to a single app. The features “pins” a specific app so that the user can’t navigate to anywhere else.
On the Settings menu, tap on Security then Screen pin. Toggle the button to switch it on.
To make use of the Screen pin, launch the app you want to pin then in the navigation bar press the multitasking option, navigate up and tap the thumbtack symbol in the right corner at bottom of the most recent app.
To unpin an app, press and hold the back and recent keys together.
