A little while ago, you had to have your phone in hand in order to send a text message. Nowadays, you have the option of doing so from your PC. There’s an increasing variety of user-friendly applications that make it super easy for you to send text messages right from your laptop or desktop computer. This article highlights some of the best apps that allow you to send text and SMS from PC.

Airdroid

This a popular app that allows you to text from your PC. Airdroid is quick to set up and includes a host of features that allow you to do other things such as transfer files, backup content and manage your contacts. You can even record smartphone screenshots from your computer, and it’s super easy. This powerful app is available for free, although they have a premium version that costs a few bucks per year, but allows you to transfer larger files and do many more things.

Join

This is a fairly new Android tool that allows you to send SMS from your desktop or laptop computer. You simply have to install this app on your phone, and then install a browser extension to get it working. The app turns your PC web browser into some sort of control for your phone. You’ll be able to send texts, see notifications, share your clipboard, take screen shots, send files, and access Google Assistant. The app allows a 30-day trial period after which you have to pay a small fee to continue using it.

MightyText

MightyText makes sending SMS from PC a bliss. It’s a good app that’s preferred by a lot of people. You’ll be able to send texts, MMS, and view notifications. You can also get low battery alerts and do some other cool stuff from the comfort and convenience of your PC. The free version of this app allows you to send a maximum of 250 texts monthly. You can unlock unlimited texts by getting the pro version, which costs about 5 bucks per month.

Pushbullet

Pushbullet is one of my favorite apps for sending text messages from PC, sharing files, and receiving notifications. You’ll need to install an app on your phone, and then install a browser extension or app on your PC. Pushbullet is lightweight and works pretty easy. You can use the free version of this app but you’ll only be limited to about 100 text messages each month, and can only send files of limited size. The pro version costs about 5 bucks, but it’s totally worth it.If you often find your smartphone to be a distraction when you’re working, you can install any of these apps. You’ll be able to reply to text messages, share files and read notifications without diverting your attention from your PC, which of course can also increase your productivity.
