One of the most interesting tech products in 2016 has been routers. Google Wifi is one of the best routers on the market right now for those who want to access the internet on every corner of their home. For it to work you should make sure that you have an internet-connected Android mobile handset like a tablet or a smartphone Google account.
Unlike most routers, there is no web-based interface in the Google wifi and it can only be controlled through the new Google Wifi mobile app. Once it is set up it stays connected to Google at all times. It also logs into your account every time you need to manage it.
Google Wifi does not collect the user activity data such as what site you are visiting. It only collects network and hardware related information. You can turn this option off by going to the Settings and then to the Privacy section.

Google Wifi supports both 5GHz and 2.4GHz frequencies. The routers uses WPA-PSK and supports 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. More so, there’s no limit on the number of routers you can connect to your mesh, so it does not matter whether you have a large warehouse or a small house; the space should be covered completely.
Google introduced the Wi-Fi pause feature for a parent who might want to limit their children’s time on the internet. To do this, select the handset you want to stop and then Wifi is paused on that handset.
This feature allows guests to access and control smart home appliances such as Philips Hue lights. The lights are the only devices that can be manipulated for now, but Google confirmed that they’re planning to add other appliances in future. Additionally, Google Wifi supports IFTTT. This means that you can easily control the Nest thermostat and much more using the application.
Google Wifi automatically switches your handsets to the fastest, strongest connection. It also has the ability to detect congestion on its network at will move your handsets to the connections that work best. The handset supports a speed of a maximum of 600Mbps, so do not worry about failing to stream a 4K movie.
The Google Wifi application has a feature called Network Assist that helps you enjoy the optimal experience. The Network Assist will tell you what points you should move to other rooms to maximize the network speed. Since only one point needs direct wiring to the modem, you other points can be placed anywhere else they can get power.
