As the rollout of Google’s Marshmallow OS gradually continues to hit different devices, Asus appears to the latest OEM to join in, in the upgrade. It appears that company has done more than just update its ZenFone 2 Laser to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. According to its post on Asus ZenTalk message board, the ZE500KL model of the device will receive a Marshmallow OS update that will bump its software version to a 13.10.6.16_M3.6.44 build, as well as get rid of a ton of its incorporated bloatware. Some of the pre-installed apps that will be eliminated once the device is upgraded to Android Marshmallow include: Dr. Safety, Yahoo Shopping, Google+, Trip Advisor and many more.Asus’ very own apps and services such as Asus Email, Asus Messaging and Asus Calendar will also not be bundled in this OS version. However Google Calendar, Gmail and Google Messenger can be used as alternatives. The reason for this sudden subtraction of its pre-loaded apps is still unknown, however it will be positively received by users of the handset.
