The new iPhone was received with mixed reviews, but sales show a much more positive story. It’s weird, a couple of years ago every launch of a new iPhone would’ve been followed by weeks of discussion, drooling from Apple fanboys and criticism from Apple haters. For the newest Apple announcement, memes and news have been replaced by silence and not much else. That doesn’t mean that opinions haven’t been thrown by anybody with a keyboard, they’ve just been limited to the first few days after the announcement. Even here at Updato we’re firmly entrenched in two sides: some that look at this like Apple’s running out of ideas, while others (hey, I’m one of these others!) think that a smaller phone with high-end features is a breath of fresh air. Not everyone can carry around a 6” phone in their pocket, and the new SE promises big specs in a tiny body.As it turns out, the new iPhone SE is sold out in many stores across the US. Apple Insider reports that widespread stock shortage is the norm all over the US, with virtually all models already being sold. What’s surprising is that the 16-gigabyte model has a higher chance of being in stock than the 64-GB model, which costs $100 more. More models are expected to be announced, and delays are currently reaching as far as the end of the month for them to be shipped. And it’s not the US alone here, many more countries around the world are reporting the same issue - well, more of a “too much of a good thing” issue. In Hong Kong you can only get the new iPhone SE over the next 10 days, while countries like Brasil and India are expected to be great hits for the new phone.
