Snapchat is the latest messaging app and what most is currently trending among smartphones users, which is understandable considering what it offers. Its a dynamic app that serves as a chat app, an app for video sharing as well as photo sharing. On top of that, it is an awesome way to stay connected to friends and family. Getting Started with Snapchat
You first need to launch the Google Play Store app, then from there install the Snapchat app onto your device. If you have already registered a Snapchat account then enter your username and password details to sign in. However, if its your first time using the app, tap the
Sign up option at the welcome page.You will be prompted to type in your email address, a password and then select a username for your account. It is worth mentioning that the username you choose cannot be changed later on. On signing in, select the ghost icon for access to friend options along with your account settings.
Finding friends on Snapchat
You can add your friends to Snapchat in a number of ways. If given permission, the app can have access to your contacts, and enable you to find the list of friends with accounts on Snapchat. You can also tap
Add Friends if you prefer to search for usernames.Alternatively employ the useful
Add Nearby feature, which lets you add a group of people that are around you. To do this everyone has to launch their Snapchat app, select
Add Friends and then tap
Add Nearby and each of your usernames will be displayed. Add them by tapping each of their names.With continual use of Snapchat, its algorithm will help you find even more of your close friends who will be shown alongside a white star within a gold box, only visible to you.
Sending Snaps in Snapchat
Snapchat features messages referred to as Snaps that can be displayed for at least 30 seconds, which then disappear once they've been viewed. Taking a snap can be done by tapping the
circle icon once while for taking a video, press and hold the icon.To add a caption, tap the centre of the screen to type a text.
Turning Snaps to Snapchat stories
A collection of different Snaps is what is referred to as a Story on Snapchat. The creation of one is simple, take a typical Snap, tap the
Add icon, which is a cross within a rectangle, on the top right-hand corner.To see your story, on the camera screen, swipe left to access the options then under
Stories navigate to
Recent Updates then tap your name. You also view the stories your friends have posted the same way.
Enable Snapchat filters
Filters add substance or completely transform the look of your Snaps. This can include adding colors, the weather and a variety of other effects. By default, however, this feature is disabled.To switch it on, open the profile screen, press the gear icon and navigate to Additional Services then choose Manage, where you'll access the enable filters option.
Deleting Snapchat
Akin to other apps, the Snapchat app can be deleted by long-pressing the icon of the app and then tapping
Remove.However, this does not delete your Snapchat account. To remove your Snapchat account, log into your account via
