Speculations have been rising about Google's plans to partner with the China-based Huawei company, to launch yet another Nexus device. This is after the success of their previous partnership creation, the Nexus 6P. The new device said to be a 2016 Nexus 7 tablet.Google has previously released two other generations of the Nexus 9 edition. Both of these Nexus 9 devices have been created in collaboration with the ASUS company. Back in 2013, Google launched the Nexus 7 second-generation, with no new Nexus 7 edition hitting the market since.According to reports, Google is slated to launch the latest third-generation Nexus 7 in May 2016 and different from last time, Google will not collaborate with ASUS but instead partner with Huawei. Huawei and Google launched their co-built Nexus 6P early this year and perhaps, the Nexus 7 (2016) tablet will be just as successful.Though neither Google nor Huawei have made an official announcement on the Nexus 7 (2016) tablet launch, the rumors on the release have intensified. This is partly due to the fact that the current second generation Nexus 7 (2013) has been featuring massive discounts which suggest that the launch of its successor the next-generation Nexus 7 2016 tablet is around the corner. The Nexus 7(2013) is currently sold for only $100 on most platforms down from its original $218 price. One of the things expected from this next-generation Nexus 7 is that it will feature flagship features and Google's latest Android operating system software, with influence drawn from Google's Pixel C tablet. There have been rumors that the Nexus 7 (2016) tablet's specifications may have some similarities to the Pixel C's features. However, the latest reports reveal that the Nexus 7 (2016) may bundle Huawei's own Kirin 950 chipset, sporting a 7-inch screen display with 2560 x 1800 pixels resolution. If the rumors are true and the Nexus 7 (2016) will be based on the Pixel C, then it might feature an Nvidia Tegra X1 processor instead of a Kirin. In addition, if it does have similar specs to the Google Pixel C aside from the processor and resolution aspects, then it means it may have a 2GB of RAM rather than the previously speculated 3 GB. As for its software, the Nexus 7 (2016) tablet should come out of the box powered by an Android Marshmallow, same as the Pixel C.The Nexus 7 (2016) tablets like other Nexus variants, is expected to be affordable with premium performance. Recent reports have even claimed that the Nexus 7 (2016) may be a cheaper alternative to the recently launched Google Pixel C which currently is available for purchase at $500.As of yet, there has been no official confirmation and most of the reports are technically speculative. Thus, look for more updates on the Nexus 7 (2016) tablet upcoming launch. What do you hope to see in the next-generation Nexus tablet? Let us know in the comments.
