The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update has already began rolling out to users of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo in Russia. Although the Note 3 Neo was not listed as one of the Galaxy devices set to receive the Android Marshmallow update, a Lollipop update will be well received by the handsets’ users.
Samsung was launched in 2003 pre-loaded with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software. Later on, Samsung released an Android 4.4 KitKat to the Galaxy Note 3 Neo device, and just recently upgrading it to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The unlocked version of the Note 3 is once again being updated, this time with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop starting with regions in Russia.
To check if your device has received the update, tap your phone’s Settings, navigate to About Device, select Software update then Check updates and tap OK.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Galaxy Note 3 Neo is set to bring improvements such as a more dynamic user interface, battery life tweaks, and many more.
One of the features of the Galaxy Note 3 Neo that will be accelerated by the Lollipop software update is its NFC functionality. The update will set up the Note 3 with former installed apps, as well screen layouts and wallpaper.
Furthermore, the new Android 5.1.1 OS update will enable users to sync their Galaxy Note 3 devices with a variety of Android powered devices, such as smartwatches and television sets. The new update will also include a security update that will address the popular Stagefright security issue.
