Samsung’s flagship device, the Galaxy S5, has been on sale for quite some time now, and it’s been doing well. But then, a lot of flagship smartphones have already been released this year, including the Google Nexus 6, iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4. A lot of people feel like it’s time to get a feel of the Galaxy S6. There isn’t much to say about the launch day of this new device, but based on what can be gathered, and what the rumor-sphere is saying, we give you a try.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date
Samsung hasn’t said anything official about the release date of the Galaxy S6, and there’s no indication they’ll be saying something soon. Most likely, you won’t be seeing the S6 this year. Like other OEMs, Samsung has gotten into the habit of launching a new flagship smartphone once every year. Later in 2014, the Galaxy Note 4 has been the center stage of attention, as far as launches from the Korean tech giant are concerned. Reading from history, and after doing some maths, we expect the S6 will be launched close to MWC.
The Samsung galaxy S5 was released in Barcelona city earlier this year. The MWC 2015 is planned to take place on March 2nd, and we expect the next Galaxy smartphone to be released close to this date, at an unpacked event. However, if we hear anything more specific, we’ll let you know.
Regarding the specs, a lot of rumors are flying around, but we have reason to believe the new Galaxy will use a SuperAMOLED screen, the company’s top display technology. The screen size could be as big as 5.5”, matching that of the LG G3, or anywhere between 5.1” and 5.5”.
There are also rumors about the curved display Samsung has been working on, but whether or not the company uses this on the Samsung Galaxy S6 is unclear. As the bits keep streaming in, we’ll keep you posted.
