Sony has commenced its push out of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to some of its Sony Xperia range of devices for users on Canada carriers. The over the air update which should have reached a couple of users by now, is headed out to Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact.The Marshmallow update which already landed to the aforementioned Xperia handsets in India, will come coupled with the popular Android 6.0 features and functionalities with the inclusion of Doze battery saving mode, granular app permission controls and Google Now on Tap. Furthermore, Sony has stated that the update will bundle a few improvements such as:
  • An all new camera UI, which will allow you to smoothly navigate through modes as well as incorporate customization using gestures.
  • Newly added creative stickers to the Xperia Messenger.
  • Direct Share feature for sharing activities, apps and contacts with friends.

What's my model number?

There are several ways to locate your model number:

Option 1
On your device, go to Settings, then "About device" and scroll down to "Model number"
Option 2
Often times you can view the model number inside the device, by removing the battery
Option 3
Using Samsung's model/serial number location tool
