US carriers aren't exactly the pioneers when it comes to software updates, however today, Verizon has released the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the former flagship Galaxy Note 2.The update comes with standard KitKat updates but as Verizon states, the following changes have been integrated:
  • Support for Samsung Knox
  • Dual Persona
  • TIMA Real Time Kernel Protection
  • Trust-Zone based ODE
  • Universal MDM Client and Samsung Enterprise Gateway
  • Knox Generic VPN Framework
I should mentioned, these options are all related to Knox - a feature well denied by the majority of users.Verizon also states that the update will fix certain bugs such as error code popups in Backup Assistant, connectivity issues during music streaming, Samsung Gear Manager instability and more.Updates were also brought to the following apps: Google Drive, Play Newsstand, S Suggest, Samsung Music, Emergency Alert App, Photos. The new software (KOT49H.I605VRUFND7) was released over the air and should roll out to all devices by end of tomorrow. Check your settings to see if you can update  now - Settings > About Phone > Software Updates.
