Oppo has made it public knowledge that they have released a new ROM based on the Marshmallow software for their R7s. The Marshmallow-based Project Spectrum beta test is currently available for the R7s, with the company promising to launch another one for the R7 Plus later on in May 13th. This new software update comes only a few weeks after Oppo launched their R9 and R9 Plus running on the Marshmallow software.Project Spectrum serves as an excellent alternative to the company’s ColorOS, which promises a near-stock Android experience while also retaining some of the ColorOS’ best features. The R7s upgrade to the Marshmallow-based Project Spectrum will include all the core features of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, such as an enhanced battery manager Doze Mode, Google Now on Tap, granular app permissions and a lot more. Also fused into the upgrade will be enhancements specific to ColorOS like customizable screen gestures (double tap to wake, drawing a C to launch camera app, etc.), VOOC Flash Charge support, and OPPO’s signature camera app, among others.Visit the official OPPO website for more detailed information on this update, as well as access the download links. The
