After releasing the Android Marshmallow update for its Xperia Z5, Sony has started pushing out an identical software update to two more Xperia devices, the Xperia Z3 Plus and the Xperia Z4 Tablet. This upgrade will bump these Xperia devices up to the Marshmallow 6.0 version of Android, and will match the same features brought to Sony's Xperia Z5 flagship handsets.
The Marshmallow update is complemented with a 32.1.A.1.163 build number, which is the same exact software make that is currently reaching the Xperia Z5 models. With this update comes with renowned functionalities such as Google Now on Tap, improved app permissions and Marshmallow's Doze feature, among others. Along with this Sony has also incorporated a newly introduced Xperia Home Launcher, leaving out its STAMINA mode.
This Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade will is compatible Xperia Z4 Tablet variants including the Wi-Fi SGP712 model and the LTE SGP771 model, in addition to the E6553 variant of Xperia Z3 Plus. A similar update is also being pushed out for the Xperia Z3 Plus Dual, even though it is currently exclusive to smaller territories. XperiaFirm confirmed that the update already went live in regions such as India, Russia, Singapore, USA and Turkey, as well as one or two more nations. Other regions can expect to receive the update in the coming days or weeks.
