The major Google OS update has already been released to the LG G4 variants in a variety of territories including parts of Europe and the United States, and right now it seems like users of the device in Canada may be the next to get a taste of the Marshmallow update. In the next few days, LG G4 editions on the Rogers and Telus cellular networks in Canada are set to receive the Android 6.0 updates.
It has been confirmed via the Telus support page for software updates that the LG G4 could have already began receiving the Marshmallow update as of Monday, February 1st, which is also incorporated with the Android security update. The update also revealed that the Marshmallow software is also slated to roll out to the G3 on Monday, March 14th.
On the other hand, Rogers stated that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow began rolling out to the LG G4 on Wednesday, February 3rd. According to reports, multiple LG G4 users on other Canadian carriers such as Virgin Mobile, Bell, Wind Mobile and a few more, have already started seeing the Marshmallow update reach the handsets as well.
Once you upgrade to the Marshmallow firmware, you’ll be able to take advantage of useful features like the Doze Mode, Google Now on Tap, Android Pay access, revamped app permissions among others. If you are yet to see the update notification, you can check manually by going to your phone’s Settings.
