After a period of postponing its update rollouts to the Samsung Galaxy devices, Telus has finally given users of their Galaxy device variants a reason to hope. The Canadian carrier has finally commenced its rollout of the Marshmallow update to its Galaxy branded devices. The first on the list is its variant of the Galaxy S5, which is currently receiving the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. Weighing in at 819MB, the Android 6.0.1 software update will not only incorporate Marshmallow’s signature features and functionalities, but it also comes with the April security patch, making the device’s security relatively up to date.If you are wondering why you haven’t seen the update notification, perhaps it would be a good idea to check under your S5’s settings, to see if the update is already available for download.Given that the Galaxy S5 global variant has already received its part of the Marshmallow update, it won’t be long before more Galaxy S5 variants begin to see the Marshmallow update reach them.On the other hand, other Galaxy handsets on the Telus network are scheduled to receive their update later on this month, with Galaxy Note 4 set to grab its Marshmallow update on the 16th of May.
