Huawei has already prepared a beta build for its Huawei P9 hardware, which includes the latest version of Android – Nougat. It’s fascinating to see Huawei make an early jump on its software updates, but the outstanding news even is that there’s an update for EMUI 5.0.The company hasn’t publicly announced this release, but it leaked via the XDA’s forums with screenshots demonstrating the perks of the update. The version of the update shows as 3.1. However, it’s actually 5.0 (Huawei hides version numbers to prevent leaks like this).Based on the screenshots and other data that’s available from this leak, we can see a couple of changes to EMUI that significantly improve the UI and make it much cleaner. The solid white buttons near the bottom line up closely to the rumored buttons for the final build of Android Nougat.Of course, this is a beta ROM for the time being that’s available for Huawei P9. Users can install the ROM through Huawei’s own upgrade tool. It’s important to note though that this ROM won’t be getting over-the-air updates in the future. If you want to try it though, see full instructions on how you can do just that!
