Microsoft’s Cortana is getting better tweaks as the company seeks to expand this helpful personal assistant. The improvement entails an update to the 188.8.131.529 version of the beta Android app which just got launched with the interesting ‘Hey Cortana’ feature.
Voice Cortana is a voice assistant on your Windows device that helps you in simple tasks such as finding things on your PC, and you can use it when your phone is in stand-by mode. This sounds as old piece of news for owners of certain Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 phones as well as those owning certain Lumias.
On Android, the Cortana option is found in the settings as the first option.
For the Android version, you would have to switch off your phone then unlock the display after which you say, ‘Hey Cortana’ in order to activate the personal assistant.
Microsoft launched Cortana for the Android users, on the public beta at the close of August. The trial version can be accessed by those in the United States by signing up, testing then giving their feedback. For those running a PC on Windows 10, you have the added advantage of Cortana syncing up settings, reminders and preferences between the two models.
However, Microsoft is yet to launch Cortana officially on Android.
