The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 was one of the best budget handsets of the year, boasting specs such as a 5.5-inch HD display backed by a processing package of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615, 2 GB of RAM, 13 MP main camera, an internal storage of 16/32 GB and battery capacity of 2910 mAh. And now there is more reasons to love the device all its editions are currently receiving an update to Android Marshmallow. This means that users will now enjoy features such as Google Now on Tap, Doze mode, granular app permissions, adoptable storage and more.

Additionally, the smaller 4.7-inch version of the handset is also set to get the Marshmallow upgrade as well. The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 iteration bundles a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 13 MP main camera, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8/16 GB of internal storage and a battery capacity of 2000 mAh.

Customers who own any of the two versions of the device, should keep an eye out for the update notification or check for the update within their Settings.
