Android Marshmallow Rolling Out for HTC One M8 Google Play Edition

Good news to all HTC One M8 Google Play Edition owners, as they will now be able receive Goodgle’s latest operating system the Android Marshmallow on their devices. The Marshmallow software update began rolling out for the HTC One M8 GPE variant of the HTC devices on November 5 with owners disclosing that their devices had received the over-the-air update. The update is set to bring an array of new features including Doze mode that saves on your phone’s battery power, increased app permissions, UI modifications and a lot more. If you are lucky enough to own an HTC One M8 Google Play Edition you will need to check for the update, by heading to your Settings, the About Phone section.The HTC One M8 Google Play Edition unlike its other HTC counterparts does not feature HTC’s Sense UI but is instead powered by stock Android. It was also among the first handsets to receive an Android 5.0 Lollipop when it was launched last year November.The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will take up 450.4MB of HTC One M8 GPE’s memory and will upgrade the device from Android 5.0 Lollipop. All you need is access to Wi-Fi and at least 50 percent battery power on your device to start the installation process.HTC also rolled out security patches to the HTC One M8 GPE and their other HTC devices after reports broke out on Stagefright susceptibility.For other HTC One M8 carrier variants, according to HTC, they should expect to most likely see the update reaching them in the next few weeks or so.
