The Superbook is a daring prototype that wants to make your Android phone power a laptop. The idea isn't new and Microsoft (among others) has been toying with similar concepts for a while now, but this is the first time I've seen this idea implemented on Android. Here's a short demo that shows how the OS looks like on a laptop:
The price for the laptop shell (which is basically just the screen, battery, keyboard and trackpad) is announced at $99, and you can follow the project on their official website, getsuperbook.com.Personally, I like the idea of turning your phone into a laptop, and the price seems affordable as long as they can make the product usable - since the Superbook OS is different than Android, that seems like quite the task. Also, I'm curious how they will hold up against the increasingly popular Chromebooks. But at the end of the day it's still a neat idea. Would you use a Superbook?
