According to South Korea, SEOUL, when Sammy launched one of its latest smartphones, Galaxy S6, it sounded a note of desperation since the sales of its devices had tumbled losing its position in the Chinese market to its bitter rivals the Apple and Xiaomi.
The result of its latest flagship is fantastic. Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge went on sale in 20 countries on Friday. According to Samsung, ‘Project Zero’ which began from a scratch is set to help Samsung recover the lost market share.
Samsung suffered a 40% slumps in earnings last year. The Galaxy S5 didn’t sell as it was expected. The device had many problems and a few bugs that made many smartphones fans shift to Apple and Xiaomi brands. Samsung was among the top 5 smartphones developers to sell fewer phones. According to Gartner, in the final quarter of 2014 Samsung had dropped marginally behind Apple’s in sales.
The media was always after the Apple’s recent launched iPhones which had larger screens. The plastic foundation of the Galaxy handsets was derided as looking cheap. The cheap China smartphones made by Xiaomi surprisingly became popular than the Samsung handsets.
To change those awful statistics, Samsung replaced all the executives in its mobile team. The changes have successfully been paying off. The pre-launch reviews hailed Samsung for replacing the plastic body with a metal and glass for its new handsets.
According to Lee Sang, (Samsung’s head of mobile marketing), the S6 is expected to attain a sales record for the Company’s series of smartphones. Shin Jong-kyun said that the Galaxy S6 Edge is not likely to meet its demand due to the limited supply of the Edge. According to the Analysts, the S6 Edge and the S6 will aid Sammy in regaining the lost ground in China which is the world biggest smartphone market.
Samsung is confident that the S6 consumers will splurge. Samsung is yet to announce its prices in China in the coming week. The handset is to be launched on April 17 in China.
