Samsung's next big event is going to take place on the 11th of the next month. So, it's no surprise that we've been recently getting bombarded with numerous rumors and supposed leaks about the next Galaxy S series. Today, however, something a bit more interesting caught our attention: The Galaxy Z Flip!

This looks like Samsung's next foldable device -and that's why we couldn't possibly wait until the official announcement to talk about it. With that being said, let's get right into it!

Information and Pictures of the Galaxy Z Flip Leak Out

The Galaxy Fold was Samsung's first foldable device and despite the various issues before launch, lots of people loved it. Now the Galaxy Z Flip is almost here and it looks like an improved version in almost every single aspect.

Galaxy Z Flip

As you can see, unlike the Galaxy Fold which is a hybrid of a tablet and a phone, the Galaxy Z Flip seems to be strictly targeted towards smartphone users. It's much smaller and definitely more compact.

At full size, the phone is rumored to have a screen of 6.7 inches with a resolution of 1080x2636. By folding it you're cutting the size to half of that. But, truth be told, the thickness may be an issue for those who are wearing tight jeans. We'll just have to wait and see it in real-world usage for that.

The display isn't bezel-less as it comes with Samsung's circular notch. Or as they like to call it: Infinity-O. That's a bit of a waste considering that there is a perfectly functional secondary screen at the back of the phone.

Speaking of which, while the specs mention a secondary 300x116 display at the back, we can't see anything of the sort in the leaked pictures. There are 3 possible explanations for that:

  1. The leaked specs are wrong
  2. The pictures are not of the final product
  3. Or Samsung is willing to use the new technology which allows you to change the opacity of glass at will

Specifications

As you'd probably all expect, Samsung is not ready to create a mid-range foldable device just yet. And we can see that plain as day by looking at the specs:

  • Chipset: Snapdragon 855+
  • Display: 6.7-inch 2636x1080 + secondary screen at 1.06 inches 300x116
  • Storage and RAM: 256GB with 8GB of RAM
  • Cameras: Dual camera setup at the rear with a 12MP + 12 wide and ultra-wide combination - the selfie shooter is at 10MP
  • Battery: -

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is expected to launch on February 14 with a starting price of $1,400! But take that and everything else that we mentioned above with a grain of salt.

After all, leaks and rumors can't always be trusted. And even when they are accurate, nobody can guarantee that Samsung isn't going to change the final version of their product.

That's all for now. If anything else comes up, we'll make sure to let you know about it. So, stay tuned!
