A recent report by Opera Mediaworks provides new numbers that describe the battle between Apple and Samsung in the world of mobile devices.First of all, Apple crushes the other manufacturers with a market share of 43.8% being the leader of the mobile device manufacturing market. Samsung still remains the contender with 17.41% share but the distance from Apple is still large.Then there is the manufacturing market of Android devices, where Samsung leads with 58.45%, followed by HTC with only 10.88%. At least here the domination of Samsung is clear.In the tablet business, Apple is by far the number 1 manufacturer with 91.20% market share, crushing Samsung that only has 6.11%.All in all, Samsung is still far behind Apple, although they have indeed evolved a lot in the past years. However Apple was the first premium smartphone manufacturer and has the monopoly over the iOS operating system which is now used by hundreds of millions of people. However the future looks unclear, as we are expecting one of the two companies to have a boom in the following period.
