According to a new report, the new Samsung flagships, the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 will be receiving the Android 5.1 update. The report states that Sammy is still working on the update hence no specific time for the release is provided.The new flagships have so far proved to be awesome with the sale increasing at a higher rate than that of Samsung’s previous handset, the Galaxy S5.  Consumers are very impressed with the flagship’s premium build, the S6 Edge curved display and the improved specs.Recently, Samsung has been busy installing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for many of its flagships. Samsung Galaxy S5 has already received the Android 5.0 Lollipop on the major US carriers. Samsung has also released the Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Galaxy S5 active, Galaxy S5 sport, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 4.The Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 are shipping with the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop paired with the Samsung TouchWiz interface. However, Samsung is not resting on the updates. According to a report, it is clearly indicated that Samsung is developing the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for these great and latest smartphones.Still there are no specific details of the changes the latest version of Android Lollipop will bring on the handset. The Android 5.1 Lollipop has new features which will make the new flagships more awesome. Such features are:
  • Preventing using the handset without signing in with the Google account even if iyou factory reset
  • Better Bluetooth and Wi-Fi controls
  • Better Sound features
  • Fast Wi-Fi connections
  • Notification being flicked away
  • Better device protection
  • Improved HD calling when speaking with another user who also has Android 5.1 update
  • Improved quick settings home screen
Again, Samsung is yet to announce the release date of the new update but we’ll continue bring latest news on this update for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
