By now, everyone in America, if not most of the world, must be familiar with the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS. In the age of You Tube, it was almost inevitable this would go viral. Sports figures, TV personalities, politicians (even former presidents) and ordinary citizens have taken the dunking, raising more than 50 million dollars for ALS research. By almost any measure, this is one of the most successful fund raising campaigns in history.
Even phones are getting into the act. In Samsung’s latest ad touting the S5’s advantages over it’s competition, the Galaxy S5 has taken the splash, and challenged the iPhone, the HTC One, and the Nokia 930 to do the same. Of course, none of those devices are water resistant. Whatever you think of Samsung’s phones, you’ve got to admit their ad agency is on a roll.
