The Samsung Galaxy S5 was only launched last year but is already rest to receive the much awaited Android Marshmallow update. This is expected to happen in the early 2016, so users should look out for the notification update on the Galaxy S5 phones. In the meantime, Samsung has already began issuing their promised monthly security software updates.The latest updates being rolled out by the South Korean Company, will among other improvements, introduce a security patch. Currently, the update can only be accessed by users in the European regions with other areas expected to receive it in the soon after.The official changelog, states that the new Galaxy S5 update will boost the Smart Manager with improvements made to the FOTA speed. Further enhancements will be available on the regular Android security patches.The update will weigh as much as 206MB thus the space on your Galaxy S5 should be sufficient. Apart from improving performance the maintenance update is meant to add new features and advance the already existing features to heighten the device’s performance.While the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow is yet to come to Galaxy S5, the smartphone continues to run on the Android 5.0 Lollipop. Android Marshmallow will bring a ton of new features to the Galaxy device including Doze mode, new app permissions among others.Once the installation is complete, a new November 1st dated security patch will appear. This signifies that the December security patch should be expected in January. When the update is complete you will begin to see the improved changes and new features, even though this will not affect the Android 5.0 Lollipop on the S5.
