In a turn of events, Galaxy S5 handsets in US started receiving the latest Android 5.1.1 software update. A week ago, there were reports and rumors that the update was coming soon for the Galaxy S5. According to the reports, the update was in the testing face, and most of us were not expecting the update to be delivered officially for at least a month. However, many reports have confirmed the Samsung S5 devices in US are getting the Android 5.1.1 update. Recently, all updates and news have been aimed at Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6. However, today T-Mobile pushed the Android 5.1.1 update for the S5.Android 5.1.1 Lollipop was launched with an aim to fix the few bugs and improving the 5.1 update. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop has been available on the Nexus handsets for a few weeks and it has begun arriving for the non-Nexus handsets. The first Android 5.1.1 update for a Samsung handset in US came with T-Mobile. Many are surprised that the update is hitting the Galaxy S5 handsets with the latest lollipop update.Earlier this month, Samsung started pushing the update for the S6 Edge and S6 on T-Mobile in US. So far T-Mobile has been the only carrier to release the Google’s latest softwareupdate. T-Mobile delivered the update on the S6 series and again it is delivering the update for the S5.Samsung and T-Mobile are yet to confirm or announced the release of the update. Either the update went out early or they will be making a formal announcement soon. We are expecting some of the theme engine in the S6 hit Galaxy S5. Some of the users have reported that the handsets still have an older version of TouchWiz, to keep the changes for the S5 owners minimal. Those with the T-Mobile should expect the latest update to arrive soon as an over the air update like all others.
