After rolling out security patches for July and updates, devices are already being lined up for Samsung August update. Samsung took up its official Security Blog to showcase the details of what users can expect from next month’s firmware update and security patches.Just as the story goes every month, Google will roll out its batch of key Android security updates. These updates will be buckled up by Samsung with fixes, and then finally rolled out worldwide. You can find specific details about the upcoming Samsung August update in the official blog post.
“Samsung Mobile is releasing a maintenance release for major flagship models as part of monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) process. This SMR package includes patches from Google and Samsung.”

Samsung August update won’t fix the Quadrooter flaw

Android has lately been plagued by security breaches since the news of Qualcomm chips being vulnerable has affected all manufacturers. Quadrooter is one such vulnerability, affecting almost all devices, including Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.Although three of several other flaws have been fixed by the July security update, the vulnerabilities are not expected to be patched until September. Since it takes OEM’s to release their version of the security update at least an entire month, your device is susceptible to the vulnerability probably until October.
