samsung jay zIt seems that Jay-Z and Samsung are making a very good team as the artist announced his new album which will be released with Samsung's help. Samsung will offer the albums to its customers in a promotion and the number is not small: 1 million free albums. The rapper announced the move in a commercial during the halftime of the NBA finals on Sunday. The album is called "Magna Carta Holy Grail" and it will be launched on July 7.In the commercial, we find Jay-Z in a studio working at the album. He was helped by Rick Rubin, Pharell Williams, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland. The only reference to Samsung is some text on a black screen at the end plugging Samsung’s Galaxy phone and directing people to a web site that explains the download.Twitter was on fire after this commercial as some fans showed their irritation about the marketing way chosen by the artist. Jay-Z made another deal back in the past with Nokia. At that time, he launched the album "The Black Album". So Jay-Z is a very important person in the advertising world as he has contracts with Budweiser, Barclay's and other big companies.Samsung is a leader at this moment in the world of smartphones and Jay-Z wanted to associate his image with the big company. It seems that leaders follow leaders. Samsung will pay Jay-Z $5 million for his albums involved in the promotion. Cell phone companies try more and more to bring music stars close to them as music is a very good marketing idea. Also, stars need those contracts because the smartphones are used more and more and their image will always be in the attention of the customers this way. Here is the video posted by Jay-Z to promote the whole thing:
