Google Play Games has been an obscure app on Android phones for years now, but this latest update wants to make it a central hub for all gaming activity on Android.Once you get this update, you’ll be able to choose a Gamer ID - this was announced a couple of months ago and it’s Google’s effort to centralize all games in a single dashboard. Avatars are also new, and you have quite a few to choose from. All the achievements from your games are saved in Play Games, as well as invites and challenges from friends.screener_20160413(18_37_57)What’s more, the update enables auto sign-in, which means that once you’re logged in with your account games won’t ask you to sign in every time you install one, and your Gamer ID will be the same across games.Although the new Play Games iteration doesn’t bring a lot of new stuff, but it does improve the app’s usefulness. Have you used Play Games in the past? If not, does this update make you want to give it a go? Image source: digitaltrends.com
