The latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow is finally rolling out for Moto E (2nd gen). Motorola had released a list of their devices set for the Marshmallow software update back in October. Disappointingly, the Moto E second generation was not listed as among the devices that would receive the update. In early October 2015, Motorola revealed a list of their devices planned to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The absence of Moto E 2015 Edition on list came as a surprise to many, especially because the device was launched with an Android 5.0 and only later received an Android 5.1 upgrade to fix Android 5.0 bugs. It was highly anticipated that the 2nd generation Moto E will be one of the devices slated for the upgrade considering the company had promised future updates on the device. Fortunately, it appears that the Motorola is keeping their word after all, after it was confirmed that users in certain regions will receive the Android M on their Moto E smartphones. This includes Moto E 4G LTE version in Europe, Canada, Asia and Latin America. The Moto E 4G LTE version which runs on Snapdragon 410 is the only variant getting the Android M update with the Snapdragon 200 variants still off the list. Motorola models such as Moto G (2015) and Moto G (2nd gen) 4G LTE version are also set to obtain the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update.
