Flexible OLEDSamsung Display, the second division of Samsung in terms of revenues, is faced with a serious business issue. If the information is correct, LG will start mass production of flexible OLED displays by the end of 2013. Samsung also presented interest in the technology and even showed a few prototypes but now it seems that things aren't looking so bright. The flexible display technology will make devices lighter and also come with shatterproof capability. However we will probably have to wait longer than a year for the first device that will actually use a flexible display. It is even possible that the first device with a flexible display will still come with a rigid structure, but it will still benefit from the lightness and durability of the YOUM panels. The news comes at a bad time for Samsung that already lost a large part of their share price when the Galaxy S4 sales started to decrease. Now Samsung Display looks like it's loosing field in front of LG. Shareholders cannot be happy to hear these news and Samsung has to step up its game if they want to remain in the top.
