Following the shocking discovery of the Stagefright vulnerability, Android phones being hit by monthly updates to keep them secure, comes as a wonderful treat to owners. This is all a prevention strategy, and another great Android device has received its share of security upgrade.

The January security patches for the unlocked version of the HTC One A9 are currently being released. Owners of the device who haven't seen a notification for the update, should be able to access it via their phone settings. As these process can sometimes roll out in phases, the update may take a little while to reach all the handsets.

What's more, the monthly security update is not the only thing in store for the HTC One A9. As an added bonus, the Taiwanese company chose to bundle a ton of bug fixes. At the present, we do not have detailed information about these enhancements, but much of the difference may be noticed by a long-standing user of the device.

HTC One A9 is still among the list of the most attractive smartphones in the market's mid-range category, thus its a good thing to see its manufacturer release constant updates.
