Either Morgan Freeman or Scarlett. Mmmmmmm, Scarlett….

The cranky, stiff voice of the Google Search app (U.S. version) is being replaced with a softer, smoother (sexier?) voice. This version has a much more natural tone and a less staccato, robotic delivery.

If you want to see if you have the new voice available, go to Settings – Language and input – Text-to-speech output – Settings – Install voice data

What’s Next: Text-to-speech by Morgan Freeman (or maybe Scarlett Johansson?)

In the future all text-to-speech apps will let you customize the voice with anyone you want. You could use your significant other, favorite author, a favorite celebrity, movie character or just about anyone you want.

Of course, there’s no voice better than the Voice of God, AKA Morgan Freeman.

If you could pick anyone’s voice for your Android smartphone, who would it be?
