Last month, a report saw the face of the world in which was announced that Samsung is working at a new smartwatch that has calling functionality built-in. Yesterday a new report was launched by The Korea Herald that gave a name to this new device. This smartwatch will be likely called Gear Solo. It will be launched in South Korea, in ar dual partnership Samsung-SK Telecom in the coming weeks. Another information that makes this report true is that Samsung just applied to a patent with Gear Solo name on it. For beginning it seems that the device will be launched just South Korea, but is not excluded a worldwide launch later on this year.As the report says the new Gear Solo smartwatch will come with a USIM module and will have built-in radios that will make possible receiving and making calls. Our biggest concern is the battery. If the device connects to voice networks it will consume a lot of energy. We are curious to see with what solution comes Samsung to this problem.Would you like a such device for you? Do you want to see a global launch?
