Samsung says that the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Edge denote improved models of the last year’s S5. The last year’s handset, Galaxy S5, was a big disappointment to the Company. S5’s market performance was very much so disappointing since the device didn’t sell as was anticipated. Samsung decided to make an improved version of the handset that is the S6 which is set to restore the company’s glory in the marketplace. Here are some of improvements Samsung managed to implement.1. USB 3.0Galaxy S6 has a Micro USB 2.0 port compared to S5’s Micro USB 3.0 port. The S5 is among the very few smartphones with USB 3.0. USB3.0 is faster than USB 2.0 in data transfers (at least 9 times faster) but the mobile connection standard is less wieldy and larger. Nowadays few people transfer data using a USB connection. This makes the USB 2.0 in the S6 more appropriate since physical data transfer using USB connection is infamous.2. Great BatteryThe S6 has a considerably smaller battery than the S5. Galaxy S5’s battery has a capacity of 2800mAh whereas the S6 has a 2550mAh battery. That of Galaxy Edge is slightly larger than that of the S6 that is 2600mAh. The S6’s battery life is said to be more powerful than that S5 and is set to stay longer.3. MicroSD card Samsung Galaxy S6 lacks the MicroSD card slot. Lack of an expandable storage is usually seen as a flaw but the S6 will be limited to the internal memory that ships with the device. The S5 had a MicroSD slot but its internal memory is much lower than that of the S564. Removable backThe back of Samsung’s S6 is no longer removable.  Galaxy S5 has a removable back which meant that its battery could also be removed. This feature in the S6 posed lots of challenges to frequent travellers. The S6 has fast charge capabilities when compared to the S5 hence there is no need in accessing the wall socket.
