S 21

Ever since the One UI 4.0 stable build was released for Samsung Galaxy S21, users have complained about lag issues quite too often. Luckily, the company has decided to address those issues with the brand-new firmware build. In other words, the Samsung Galaxy S21 devices in the US market are receiving an update that promises to fix most of the underlying issues that are sheltered alongside the Android 12 based One UI 4.0 firmware.

Bearing the version number G99xUSQU4BUK9, the new firmware is ready to replace the previously available G99xUSQU4BUK7. As per the latest report, the update is out for the Verizon network and is expected to crack other carriers in the upcoming weeks. Talking about the update in particular, as already mentioned, it aims primarily to eradicate the refresh rate lag issues. Users who've been using the devices post update have reported significant improvement.

Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 Gets the Second One UI 4.0 Beta

While on one side, Samsung is busy addressing the lag issues on the Galaxy S21's stable One UI 4.0 firmware, the company, on the other hand, is making sure to enhance the beta experience for the flagships S20 and Note 20 series. In particular, to name the devices, we've got Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

Although a beta build, the new firmware is already making headlines with notable improvements. Almost everything has been answered, from the adaptive refresh rate errors to the Quick Share icon-related issues, from Clear View errors to the trouble revolving around Samsung Display Cover. Other crucial things that need to be mentioned about the new beta firmware include a more stabilized UI, better navigation, search functionality in the Messaging app, and more.

If you've already been an enrolled member for the One UI 4.0 beta, you should automatically receive the update on either Samsung Galaxy S20 or Note 20 devices. In case you haven't already, make sure to look at the Samsung Members app.

Here is what the changelog looks like:

  • The errors that result in your device not working perfectly with the adaptive 120Hz refresh rate have been fixed.
  • The Quick share icon issues have been resolved.
  • All the operations related to the phone frame rate have been improved.
  • The search functionality of the messages app has been improved.
  • Fixed issues with Samsung's Clear View Display Cover.

Alongside many other issues, the Samsung Galaxy S21 devices with the Android 12 stable firmware reportedly loaded disturbing WhatsApp issues. The error restricted users from sending video files. Luckily, the fix is out.

Featuring the version number G99xBXXU3BUKG, the new firmware is out for the devices in Germany, Austria, Nepal, India, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Spain, and the Philippines.

Fairphone

Fairphone 2 Gets Android 10 After 6 Years

Announced back in 2015 with Android 5.1, the Dutch origin smartphone Fairphone 2 has been stuck with the Android 9 firmware for quite some time now. Recently, the company has decided to kick off an Android 10 based beta testing program with the ultimate aim of releasing the stable version somewhere in 2022.

Recently the company took Twitter to announce this upgrade plan. This is what they had to say:

Indeed a great piece of news to rejoice about. However, things get more interesting with Fairphone3 and Fairphone 3+ smartphones. Released in 2019 and 2020, respectively, you can expect an Android 11 beta testing program for the devices really soon.

Xiaomi

Xiaomi is Ready to test MIUI 13 on various Android 11 and Android 12 Based Devices

If you've been following Xiaomi's OS source code, you might have noticed that the Xiaomi 12X is most probably coming together with Xiaomi 12 somewhere this month. The devices are expected to feature MIUI 13 based on Android 11 out of the box. Apart from that, several other devices are lined up for the same, but the Android version is presumed to be the latest one, Android 12. To name a few, we've got Mi Mix 4, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Lite 5G, Mi 10S, Mi 11, Redmi K40, and more.

RealMe

November Security Patch Releases for RealMe 8

Although a bit late, the security of the RealMe 8 devices finally gets an update. With firmware version RMX3085_11.A.22 and a weight of around 255MBs, the November Android security patch is live.

Interestingly, it is not only the security patch, as the Glace feature for RealMe is also added as an attention-seeking element. The Glace feature works as an elegant and informative factor that would add informative and exclusive content to your device's lock screen. Similar to what Mi device owners are used to, you can seamlessly choose the category and access the desired content.

Apart from that, the update promises to fix some issues and optimize the overall stability of the device.
