OnePlus

OnePlus 8T

For some reason, T-Mobile's OnePlus 8T did not come with AOD (Always On Display) out of the box. But, thankfully, this is now being fixed with the latest update that not only includes AOD, but also October's security patch along with a few bug fixes and battery performance optimizations.

The update only weighs 320 megabytes and chances are that it's an incremental one. So, there is a chance that some of you are going to have to wait a little bit longer than others.

Xiaomi

Redmi K30 5G

Last week, both the Redmi Note 9 and K30 Pro Zoom got the latest MIUI 12 with Android 11. Now the Redmi K30 5G takes its turn as well.

This is actually a stable beta and is currently only available in China. But if there are no issues with it, it should soon become available for the rest of the globe as well.

The update weighs 2.8 gigabytes and includes all of the features that you can expect to find on both Android 11 and MIUI 12. We are talking about:

  • More fluid animations
  • Dark mode support for 3rd party apps
  • UI changes (Such as the two-layered status bar)
  • Ultra Battery Saver Mode
  • Super Wallpapers

EMUI 11

And with that said, don't forget that Huawei has officially mentioned that 90% of their Huawei and Honor devices are eligible for Harmony OS. Most of the devices above are most likely going to be "upgraded" to Huawei's OS at some point. So, we wouldn't be surprised to them ditching Android – even if only partly.

Samsung

Galaxy Z Fold 2

It's no secret that betas are often full of bugs and issues. After all, that is why we call them betas. And without them, we wouldn't be able to enjoy stable releases. So, anyone who is joining into a beta release should expect to come across a few issues.

One of the most serious bugs we've seen so far is extreme battery draining. Now there is something even worse that prevents users from unlocking their Galaxy Z Fold 2 devices and, thus, rendering the tabletphone useless.

Galaxy Z Fold 2

The firmware version is F916NKSU1ZTKB  and it seems to only affect beta users in South Korea. However, there is a good chance that it was originally scheduled for a global release. We wouldn't be surprised if some of you are still receiving notifications about it, and, obviously, you should stay away from it until the issue is fixed.

Some people may find this to be preposterous. But, again, don't forget that betas are often full of issues. Never sign up for a beta with your daily driver.

Update: The bug just got hotfixed with another update.

Galaxy Watch Active 2

Another update is here for Galaxy Watch Active 2 users and, this time, it brings GPS accuracy improvements to the table along with a few other bug fixes and general improvements.

To be more specific, in case you can't read it clearly through the image, the changelog mentions:

  • Voice guidance provided via headset connected to mobile when exercising with a watch
  • Voice guidance provided for traveled distance and HR data, when Auto Lap feature is enabled during Running/Cycling
  • Improved system stability and reliability

The firmware version is R825USQU1BTJ6 and it only weighs 45.42 megabytes.

Galaxy S10 and Note 10

As we mentioned some time ago, One UI 3.0 was scheduled to be delivered to both the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series. The update that has already been available for the Note 10 is now extending to India while the S10 joins the party as well.

One UI 3.0 beta for Galaxy S10

The update was originally delayed for the S10 due to battery draining issues. But it's now available in India, South Korea, and the UK as well. And, we assume it's soon going to be delivered in numerous other regions as well.

As you probably already know, the update includes Android 11, UX improvements, one-time permissions, enhanced Digital Wellbeing, new privacy controls, AoD widgets, dedicated media controls in the notifications, and more.

Not to mention anything about bug fixes and general improvements.

Galaxy Note 20

As we mentioned last week, there are many signs that indicate a stable One UI 3.0 release for both the Galaxy Note 20 and S20 series as well.

This week, the One UI 3.0 beta program just got terminated for the Note 20 series. So, this is another pretty good indication that One UI 3.0 stable is right around the corner now.

We haven't heard anything similar about the Galaxy S20 series as of yet. But its beta closure shouldn't be that far now.

As for the stable release, while we still don't have any official information about it, we can all safely assume that it's going to be ready by the end of December or early January 2021. After all, there is no more beta testing to do.

That said, don't forget that such releases are always incremental. So, it may take a while before all of you get it even after it becomes available.

Galaxy A70 (India)

One UI 2.5 is now available for the Indian Galaxy A70 variants. And with it, you can also expect to get all of the normally included features – except Wireless DeX as that's a flagship-exclusive one.

In case you can't read through the image, the changelog mentions:

  • The stability of the GPS has been improved
  • Video recording: The stability of Super steady Mode has been improved
  • The compatibility with third-party applications has been improved
  • Overall stability of functions improved
  • The security of your device has been improved

Along with the usual mentions of general stability improvements and bug fixes.

The update weighs 1.3 gigs and apart from all the features and improvements it has, it also brings November's security patch with it.
