A number of Android smartphones have already received the official Android v.6.0 Marshmallow, some include top ranked brands such as Google's Nexus models, a few Motorola, LG and HTC variants, among others. Asus is the latest to add its devices on the list.Asus previously revealed some of their phones that will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update. Through the company's forums, Asus mentioned five of its devices set to get the update. These phones include the PadFone S (PF500KL), ZenFone Selfie, Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML, ZE550ML), ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE550KL, ZE601KL, ZE500KG, ZE500KL, ZE600KL), and ZenFone 2 Deluxe/ (ZE551ML) Special Edition.Though, Asus made known their set plans to upgrade their devices to Android Marshmallow, there is no exact date when the update will reach each one of their handsets. Users of the ZenFone and PadFone series mentioned, should look out for the update notification on their devices, even for those that aren't already powered by the Lollipop software.Android Marshmallow update will bring a host of useful features including a Do Not Disturb mode which completely blocks all sounds including alarms and notifications; updated App Permissions to improve privacy controls; a Doze mode battery saving feature that automatically hibernates background applications when your device is on standby mode.
