We recently witnessed the Android Marshmallow roll out to the Shield Tablet K1 and now NVIDIA is expected to do the same for the Shield Android Tablet. The Android Marshmallow software update in store for the Android TV along with revamping user’s experiences, it is also expected to bring new features as well as a few enhancements. One of the significant changes expected is the introduction of the Adoptable Storage feature, which allows the adoption of an SD card or any USB storage device on the Shield Android TV to serve as part of its internal storage without the limitations of using an external storage. As much as this feature is useful, it does come with a few disadvantages, this include being unable to switch between storages and effects on speed. This can however be rectified if you choose to instead upgrade your Shield Android TV semi-permanently.Moving towards the interface part, currently Google Play Store features a polished look with improved categorization and exploring ability by applying top charts. Moreover, after the installation of apps, you are able to fully customize the layout of the apps on the home screen. This means you easily access your favorite apps by simply pinning them to your device’s home screen.Furthermore, Marshmallow makes it efficient for buyers of the Shield Android TV to setup process or perform a factory reset on the box. With a Marshmallow upgraded Shield Android TV you can conduct a complete setup process with a simple connection to your phone and sharing your account and Wi-Fi network details to the box.The update is still in the works but expected to roll out as soon as it is finalized.
